{"id":78,"date":"2021-03-31T20:36:39","date_gmt":"2021-03-31T20:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cooking-peppers.ts-d.net\/?p=78"},"modified":"2025-12-05T01:36:29","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T01:36:29","slug":"bleu-cheese-puffs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cursearch.atspace.cc\/index.php\/2021\/03\/31\/bleu-cheese-puffs\/","title":{"rendered":"BLEU CHEESE PUFFS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A tasty appetizer that can be prepared ahead, sealed in bags, and frozen until just before serving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Makes About 24<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 8-ounce packages cream cheese, low-fat will work or dripped yogurt<br>1 cup mayonnaise, Hellmann\u2019s\u00ae recommended (try the light)<br>1 tablespoon onion, grated<br>\u00bc cup fresh chives or green onion tops, minced<br>1 cup bleu cheese, crumbled<br>\u00bd teaspoon cayenne pepper<br>1 loaf whole wheat or multi-grain bread, thinly sliced<br>Paprika for garnish<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a medium bowl or a food processor, place cream cheese and mayonnaise; mix well. Stir in onion, chives, bleu<br>cheese, and cayenne. Set aside. Remove crust from bread slices (you may prefer to leave crusts on); cut in squares,<br>or use a small cookie cutter to cut into rounds. Spread 1 tablespoon of cheese mixture on each piece. Place filled squares on a baking sheet; cover and freeze until ready to prepare.When ready to serve, preheat oven to 350\u00baF. Remove baking sheet from freezer and unwrap; place frozen puffs in oven. Bake 15 minutes. Garnish with paprika.<br>Provide a spreader. Serve immediately along with Red Pepper Ajvar (see recipe P. 148).
