Serves 8

1 pound lean ground beef
1 pound ground pork
1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1/3 cup onion, fi nely chopped
1/4 cup half-and-half
2 eggs, slightly beaten
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, or 2 tablespoons dried
2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano, or 1 tablespoon dried
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

Preheat oven to 375°F. Mix all ingredients and shape into 1-inch balls. Place on the rack of a broiler pan. Bake until brown, 20 to 25 minutes. keep warm while making the Sour Cream and Dill Sauce.
