1/2 cup chili powder
1/2 cup paprika
1/4 pound kosher salt
2 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons coarsely ground black pepper
2 tablespoons dried basil
2 tablespoons dried oregano
2 tablespoons ground coriander
1 1/2 tablespoons dried thyme
3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/3 teaspoon cumin
Mix all ingredients together and place in a covered jar for storage. Store in a cool, dark place up to 4 months. Use this mixture for barbecue ribs, chicken, blackened fi sh, cajun soups or sauces, blackened steaks, and blackened pastas.
